Welcome to Lone Star Keto!

Welcome to the brand new Keto Recipe Blog, LONE STAR KETO!

It’s hard to believe I’ve finally taken the plunge and launched the website. Scary stuff right there. So excited and nervous at the same time. I’m a bit of a perfectionist and have worked hard to get everything right from the content to the designing aspect of it.  To say I’m not a technical person is a major understatement. Major. I mean really, what’s a snippet? CSS code, anyone? Ugh! So, not my thing.

It doesn’t help that I have some baggage coming into this new adventure. The first health/diet blog I ever tried crashed and burned. BURNED. It was like pulling teeth to get anyone to venture over to the blog. Oh well. Chalk it up to experience, I suppose. But in all honesty, I didn’t really have a direction. Not to mention that was when I still thought SAD (Standard American Diet) was the only way to lose weight and get healthy. Eeeeeek! I know, right?

I think maybe deep inside I knew it was wrong. I mean, seriously, 40 years of dieting following the whole low fat, low calorie approach yet having the same results? Lose. Gain it back plus some. Lose. Gain it back again.  Crazy to expect different results doing the same thing. But yet, I did. Over and over again. As do so many others. Isn’t it time to break that stupid cycle?

With this blog, I decided to focus more on keto recipes with a sprinkle of Texas flavor. In Texas,  everything is bigger and the food is as varied as the landscape. From TexMex to Cajun to seafood to German. We have it all. No worries if you’re not into TexMex or southern cooking. There will be a wide variety of tasty dishes that should appeal to most everyone. And no, not everything will be spicy. I’m hoping to put up at least one new recipe a week. So, check back often to see what’s new!

Please poke around and let me know what you think. I hope you’ll find something of value within this site. I truly want to help others achieve their goals to live a healthier and happier life. I’ve gained so much from the keto lifestyle and from those that are trying to get the word out that there may be another way to live and avoid so many common diseases of today. I want to do my part and pay it forward.

Since the whole website designing is new to me,  please allow a little slack if some tweaking is needed. I’ll also be working on my erm…photography skills and maybe I’ll eventually reach a more professional level.  Okay, one can have goals. 😛

I’d really appreciate any heads up if something isn’t working on the website or if you spot a mistake or even if you feel it’s missing a little something. And I’d really love to hear what you LIKE about the site it as well. Any recipe requests? No promises, but I’ll sure try!

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Do you do intermittent fasting or watch your calories?

I don't watch calories or macros. I fast by default due to lack of hunger. I don't go by a watch. I tend to eat my first meal at noon and my 2nd around 6:30. I've been carnivore for over a year now. When I was keto, I did keep track of my macros to some degree. I was also OMAD because I was seriously not hungry.
